Ministry of Change -Code of Conduct Those wishing to achieve Practitioner status;and / or to progress to the second and third level therapy courses, and who will [on successful completion of those levels], be certified by us, will be invited to become members. All Members are required to comply with and sign this code of conduct. Other organisations such as the GHSC and the NACHP have their own code of conduct and students qualifying in the first level, who wish to sit their exams and become certified practicing hypnotherapists [recommended for all therapy students] will be provided with the relevant details on application for membership I shall not by action or omission of action, cause or allow harm. I shall work with clients only in those areas I am competent and for which I carry relevant professional indemnity insurance.
I shall hold the trust of all who come to me as sacred, and their information as confidential.
I shall remain aware of my own limitations and wherever appropriate, be prepared to refer a client to another practitioner (regardless of discipline) who might be expected to offer suitable treatment. I Shall always advise any client with physical symptoms or problems of any sort, and at any other time when i believe there may be good reason, to consult a registered medical practitioner. I shall not knowingly offer advice to a client which either conflicts with or is contrary to that given by the client’s registered medical advisor/s. Should i have any doubts or concerns with regard to a client’s prescribed medication, I shall, with their client’s permission, contact the medical advisor personally.
I recognise that any client referred to them by a registered Medical Practitioner (or other relevant agency) remains the clinical responsibility of the Medical Practitioner (or agency) and shall therefore keep that Medical Practitioner (or agency) suitably informed of the client’s progress.
1. Always provided that such confidentiality is neither inconsistent with the safety of the client’s family members or other members of the public nor in contravention of the laws of the land
